Sampling Vs. Original

I guess the question about this "Is Hip Hop Dead" post is more related to the art of Sampling.  I've seen a few ustream shows where A&R's are now going live on ustream and they're looking for beats, playing beats live and it's a good look for a producer looking to get himself out there.  First of all let me say that Family Biz Ent produces all original material, as well as sample based material, yes we do realize that if you sell a beat containing samples that you may lose all of your publishing depending on what the owner of the original track you've sampled decides.  My thing is this, Yes money is an issue, but for someone trying to get himself to be seen, why not get your sampled material out there.  I look at it like this.  At this point in your career, if your name isn't Timbaland, Neptunes, Kanye, Rocwilder, (Long list of famous producers), etc you need to "get out there" anyway possible right, so "money" shouldn't be your biggest concern at this point.  So why is it that A&R's seem to always say something like "We try to stay away from samples" because of the hassle, knowing that 99% of the time, the majority of "classics" or hot material that they have is probably sample based.  I understand the hassle of clearing a sample and all this, but if it takes that extra step to make your artist's project that much better, stop being lazy.  I mean I guess you could tell the producers to stop being lazy and hire musicians, but how many of us unknown producers can afford to pay these nice musicians who are probably getting less than what they're worth anyway. Alot of times these A&R's get good original tracks and pass by them and you'll see them all start noddin they're head when a joint containing a sample is played.  I don't know if it's a contradiction, or are these dudes just confused, lol.  What do you think on this situation.  Looking for responses from everyone, producers, artists, consumers, musicians.  And Im speaking on all music, but "mainly" hip hop.  HIP HOP IS BASED OFF OF SAMPLING...
